It is a shame when a lot of internal detail is rendered invisible but a modeller prepared to build this excellent kit up as, say, an aircraft undergoing maintenance could really produce a show stopper as the kit provides more than just the basics. As it is I have saved some parts from the interior, both plastic and PE, for possible use on other models where the parts could masquerade as this and that - I'm not averse to using parts from a WWI fighter on subjects as diverse as a modern jet or even a military vehicle.
Anyhoo, a quick update. I have now attached the struts and aligned the upper wing and this is the part that I usually find the most difficult when building biplanes. Eduard has at least provided struts that are not just nicely detailed but, more importantly, are all the correct length and fit as they should - alas it has been my experience that there are a few kit manufacturers who provide struts that are neither! The task was still a little fiddly but the quality of the struts made the job that bit easier than I've experienced with other biplane kits in the past:
The upper wing is not permanently attached and is being held in place purely by virtue of the positive location of the struts in its lower surface. I've managed to check the model from various angles and, as far as I can tell, all is good regarding alignment. I'll now remove the upper wing, add a few more details and then proceed to painting.
