Absent members.
Absent members.
Talking to Greg/Doller19 yesterday and later looking through my photobucket pics (I downloaded the whole lot) got me thinking. I know he(Greg)hasn't been on for a while (real life and lack of Mojo) but there are members who seem to have just vanished, one is Dai, aka dhdrover. Has anyone heard from him? I had a pic of him and his wife that he asked me to host as his avatar. Hope he's OK.
Any other news of members who are not on here any more?
All the best

Re: Absent members.
I've been likewise worried; I have pm'd him but the messages are still in my outbox indicating he has not logged in to the forum since they were sent (1st one in May) and I have also emailed him directly but no response. If anyone knows anything please can they let me/us know as I'm rather worriedwokka wrote:Not seen The Great Auk since the Spring, Covid related?

I miss GA´s crazy whiffery, that often made my day, when I was feeling down.
I remember, how I was looking forward to new posts from him, because he could sure make me laugh.
Let´s hope that "no news, is good news".
Sorry, can´t contribute to his whereabouts.

Waiting for the day, when wars for territory will be something to be read about in history books only.

Re: Absent members.
I believe that Toby went off to a dedicated WW1 forum. He was very interested in aircraft of that period.iggie wrote:Our TobyC for that matter...

I used to love seeing Titan/Mark post. I remember the year where he rapidly went from average modeler to EXCELLENT modeler, and the started cranking out absolutely beautiful tanks and airplanes.
I hope he's doing alright

And that might explain where at least some former regular posters have gone, not just Flickr but also platforms like Facebook. Forums such as this have a lot more competition these days from other areas of social media.iggie wrote:

Re: Absent members.
I don't usually get this far down the board but when I saw the above post I felt I had to reply. I hate to be the bearer of sad news but he passed away in April last year. I don't know the cause but apparently it wasn't Covid related. He was one of the original members of the Beyond The Sprues what-if forum where he was known as Brian da Basher. They had a memorial GB for him last year which is how I found out about his passing. R.I.P..wokka wrote:Not seen The Great Auk since the Spring, Covid related?
