Re: Anyone up for a Flying Boat GB?
Been making a mental note of the seaplane kits I have.
Spitfire IX floatplane X2
Twin Otter. X2
Otter
Norseman X2
Beaver. X2
BV138
Catalina X2 (Airfix and Revell)
CL215
JU52
Swordfish. X2
Shin meiwa (sp?)
HE115
DO18
DO24
Cant Gabiano (sp?)
Arado 96
Heinkel 51
Curtis Seagull
Glen Floatplane
Tiger moth/Queen bee.
The two Hasegawa kits with catapults and floatplanes but the types I can't remember. (one is an Alf)
That's just from memory, there will be more so plenty to choose from.
All the best

You going to run a survey on these , Greg? Hi impressive list for sure.
If that’s the Matchbox Tiggie let me know, OK?

Re: Anyone up for a Flying Boat GB?
You just reminded me. That's the AZ Queen bee in 1/72 but somewhere in the deep stash I have got a Matchbox one.
And a bagged Rufe with no decals or instructions, haven't a clue what kit it is. Also got a couple of Airfix Auster and a Piper Cub floatplane up there too. And the Plasticart Briev BE6. And a couple of the Arii Cessna 172 on floats, and a couple of the Matchbox Walrus and a Seafox.
I had better stop thinking about this, I'll be here all night

I would be inclined to throw my hat in the ring for sometime this Summer (still getting organized in our new house - no real work/paint area yet). I have a couple candidates, one a floatplane and the other a very intimidating flying boat.

Okey dokey, it seems we have enough confirmed interest, so I've items a poll to canvas interest in a variety of dates; can you please vote for your preferred dates and as a post in the thread to let me know that you've voted. Only one vote per person, but you can change it at any time during the poll which will run for 14 days
Thanks!
Thanks!
Best wishes
Jim

Re: Anyone up for a Flying Boat GB? **POLL ADDED**
I've put for the second option but either of the first two assuming a 6 or 8 week/ 2month window and I will be in. (a 1 month / 4week window is too restricting and I will not be able to join in
I've got a Revell/matchbox I think? Walrus.. but i really want to take on the old 1/72 airfix one ....

This will be my FIRST GB , i'd be interested to enter with my Academy Black Cat! Been looking for an excuse to build this but couldnt quite find the courage; and because other builds got in the way (as they do ).
I have a Sword; Seamew but thats too much of a nightmare, as it the Mach2 PBY Coronado! I've just started on a Smer Seahawk, very simple little model; i also have a Grumman Duck, a Curtiss Wildcatfish, a Curtiss seagull, and there's probably a Vought Kingfisher on its way too.
Is there a time frame for completion? its just with my mental and physical health i can at times only do short spells in a day or each day.

It's going to be 2 months, so even doing small amounts every day, should get the kit finished. I have a similar problem time-wise, as I have a lot of child-care to do while David is doing online school, so I'm only getting 20 minute modeling sessions per day!Markh_75 wrote:This will be my FIRST GB , i'd be interested to enter with my Academy Black Cat!
