Buffalo

Post by Ratch »

At 1600 hours on 23rd March 1945 the 1st Northamptonshire Yeomanry took part in Operation Plunder. The Regimental task was to deliver the 154 Infantry Brigade on to the East bank of the Rhine, two and a half miles upstream from Emmerich. Subsequently, the Regiment had to run a continuous ferry service over the Rhine, carrying supporting arms and vehicles, ammunition and petrol, reserves and special supplies, to build up a bridgehead.

It is the Italeri 1/35 LVT-4 Water Buffalo with AFV Club tracks. Figures by Tamiya and stowage from my spares box. The base has a mix of scatters and natural detritus.

That’s a great dio. I think the fact that you’ve committed so many figures to the build really sells it.

I know from watching this build on your WW thread that the Buffalo put up a bit of a fight, or certainly its tracks did, but you've ended up with a fine looking dio, Ratch.

That's a fantastic diorama. The sheer number of figures really bring it to life. Great to see the buffalo tracks finally finished.

Excellent Diorama, looks superb and I love all the little bits of detail such as the kit under the bench and the crewman on top.

A very nice looking scene. All those figures make it very life-like.
