WELCOME Operational Overview

Post by Dirkpitt289 »

Welcome everyone to the Luft 46... with a twist group build. Kruaxi will be your host for this build. I'm just here if he needs any help which is highly unlikely ;-) not to mention the moral support.

Luft '46... with a twist is a Group Build intending to draw attention to some of the fascinating and bizarre designs engineered for the Luftwaffe and other nations during WW II through the Korean war (1939 thru 1953). German aircraft engineers pushed the barriers of aerodynamics and created many cutting-edge designs and prototypes which never saw the light of day by the end of the war. Luftwaffe '46 is a term which is often used to describe the aircraft that could have made an impact if they had entered production. This GB hopes to highlight these aircraft.

The Rules

1. Opening threads should have a header with the following info.
User Name:
First Name: (Optional if your shy)
manufacture:
Scale:
Model Type:
After Market Items:
2.Opening thread should include a photo of the kit box and parts
3. The model must be of a secret project of the Luftwaffe or any other nation (the twist) that was either flown or conceived between 1939 and 1953.
4. Aircraft which were flown operationally, such as the Me 262, Me 163 Komet and He 162 Salamander are acceptable as well as aircraft which never left the drawing board:
5. Aircraft may be prop or jet powered.
6. Any scale is allowed
7. And the most important rule of all. HAVE FUN!!!

So, if I understand this, 'secret project' could include any experimental planes in this period ?
I am thinking of a half dozen Anigrand 144th kits - XP-49, XP-50, XP-52, XP-62, XP-75A ?
A few of these might have flown into '46, most were just losers to another for production.
Not that I'd do them all ....

Could I get an answer to the eligibility of (any of) these aircraft ?
