Mosquitocon 29, July 31st Wayne, NJ

Post by VMA131Marine »

This was the first model show in the Northeast US in over a year thanks to COVID19. The show was hosted, as usual, by New Jersey IPMS and was incredibly well attended. There were over 600 models entered into the contest by over 150 individual entrants. Many others walked in to view the models and shop the extensive vendor tables.
The main website is http://www.njipms.org/

Here is a sample of the pictures I took of the model tables. The large scale 2001 EVA pod was incredible with working lights and screens inside; I wish I had taken video.

Thanks for posting this, VMA, there are some beautiful models there without question and I especially like that skeletal Hellcat with the soldered PE work.

I’m not quite sure but I think it has something to do with the giant mosquitoes 🦟 native to New Jersey. The club emblem features a mosquito on it. It may also be a play on words with mosquitoes being small and scale models being small replicas of much larger objects.
