Re: X12A's 'The Wrong Trousers, Gromit'
I've never managed to build anything in 'the wrong trousers' as you brilliantly put it, but then I've only ever built two Japanese aircraft.... I think reading the Victor comic as a boy ingrained a highly biased view of good and bad with regard to the respective sides during the World Wars. I still struggle with German aircraft although funnily enough no such issues arise where their tanks are concerned
That said, you have produced a fine looking series of well crafted models

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing

Thanks for your comments Iggie, appreciated. I must admit thats 2 more Japanese aircraft than I've ever built - for some reason they don't have the same appeal.iggie wrote: ↑August 26th, 2022, 4:58 pm I've never managed to build anything in 'the wrong trousers' as you brilliantly put it, but then I've only ever built two Japanese aircraft.... Yes, I grew up on a diet of Warlord, Battle and the ubiquitous Commando comics - none of which were remotely biased Still, there was no prizes for guessing who Blakey's character from On the Buses was based on and that was a good 25 yrs after the end of the war. Wouldn't get away with that these days!

Wow! Incredible Spits. That´s full house for Luftwaffe.

Wohoo! Can´t wait. You´ve just given me the best reason in the world to buy 10 Spits.

Re: X12A's 'The Wrong Trousers, Gromit'
This started as an experiment with liquid paint mask and brush painting over the top, however after that went horribly wrong it then became an experiment with 'Blu Tac' and rattle can and, despite appearances, turned out considerably better - you can imagine how bad the first one was then!
As I was just playing, I wasn't going to waste too many decals but here it is anyway - Mk IX Spit, Eastern Front.
