Brexit stops me in my tracks

Post by TeeELL »

I ran into my first insurmountable Brexit hurdle yesterday! I have a Revell boxing of the Matchbox? M3 Stuart light tank but the tracks are beyond repair/restoration/recovery. Fortunately OKB Grigorov lists replacements, a company I have purchased items from in the past. Unfortunately, the company no longer ships to the UK!
I am hoping a continental European member might be able to assist, as an intermediary? Fingers crossed.

PM me what you need and I'll see what I can do.
It's only pain, work through it.

What an amazing collection of fine fellows and gals on this site! Wokka has already ordered the parts for me, he is my Brexit bridge.
Thank you.

I think you'll find the reason for that is not Brexit per se, but the rather ridicilous VAT rules the British govenment introduced as part of the process, which affect not only trade with the EU, but also with the rest of the planet. Every commercial entity that wishes to ship to the UK must now deal directly with the UK tax authorities and pay UK VAT to them on any sales. This is quite unique in the world, and makes it very unattractive to ship to the UK; the extra sales aren't worth the extra paperwork.
