Here post information and references to 'Angel Interceptor' models, etc.
A good place to ask "historical" questions.

To my mind, this site offers the best info for Spectrum and here's the Angel pages;

Has anyone found any decent screen grabs of the interceptor? Searching online results in mainly other models and CGI or very small images.

Intakes...

On my Imai example, I added two wheels to represent fan blades, for the two engines. I then added the two intake vanes.

The Airfix kit provides a piece of what looks like mesh, with two lines to represent the edges of the vanes.

I was correct.

This cutaway;

...shows something alongside the front of the engines. I'm guessing that this is the vane for that side of the aircraft.

I think Titan has the most-right idea to date.

I think the cutaway contains some supposition as looking at some clips 'suggests' Airfix may be right about the mesh but the vanes need to be deeper.

...And at this point, the evidence screams at us that the kit is not 1/72!

The dimensions of the real Angel are as follows;

Length: 60 feet*
Wingspan: 35 feet*

With the model coming in at a length of 18cm and a 9.8cm wingspan, the model works out at a scale of 1/102 by length, 1/109 by wingspan.
