Nice selection of biplane kits there! I'll be interested to see the Hanover decalled up properly - my kit doesn't have the complex decals shown on the box art.
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

Not does mine. Aviatik does generic lozenge, so I'll probably pick some of theirs up.

I can probably help you out with decals for the Goshawk, Helldiver, and Flycatcher (maybe).

Wonderful build of the Vildebeest. The paint scheme is interesting with sharks mouth. I am also looking forward to the Hannover build.

Good to see that the real aeroplane bug has well and truly bitten!

To be honest, they still scare the crap out of me. But I'm nothing if not persistent.

You've certainly got the rigging bug!
Best wishes

I can assure you that there is absolutely nothing to be scared of: just take your time and follow a few simple rules and you will master them quite quickly.

I'm loving where your work is going Ralph! I hear good things about the Monogram and Matchbox kits, so they should be straightforward enough.

Thanks guys my.

Stuart. I'm not sure I'd ever say my work is going any one way. I get bursts of intense interest in a particular thing, but then along the way, something else grabs my attention and I go on a tangent.

Right now I'm still on my Malaya Campaign kick, and a biplane kick, but next week who knows? Maybe it's going to be antarctic explorers. Hmmm...should check eBay for a Ford trimotor.. ;-)

But in the meantime, work continues on the Roland, which is on it's feet now. And the first colors went on the Vildebeest. Decided right or wrong, to just go with a standard RAF temperate scheme, per the instructions. Painted that over a white primer in the hopes of capturing some of that Mike Grant vibrancy.

Hooley Dooley, Ralph, so many biplanes!
My Airfix Roland Walfisch stalled at the rigging stage a few years ago!

Good on you!

That's a great looking Roland. Can't wait to see it finished! You certainly are on a biplane roll at the moment. 8-)

We inch ever closer to turning the Vildebeest into a biplane. Today I finished the main painting. After spraying on the sky and dark green, I brush painted the dark earth color, and then sprayed a clear coat thinned with self leveling MLT to cover up the brush marks.

I'm going to let the whole thing sit a few days and cure, while I wait for some Micro Crystal Clear arrive. Getting those small windows filled in needs to happen before I start any rigging or get any other parts on, which can get in the way.

That's fine. The finish will be tougher once it cures. It needs to be tough for all the handling this model is still going to get. Ugh. I probably need to work in gloves from here on out.
