Most of my stuff is currently pretending to be loft insulation. But, I do have a few kits in my current 'to do' pile and this is they!

My wife thinks I'm mad but I don't smoke or drink so what the heck!

Bl**dy hell! My wife would go catatonic if I had that lot in my study. She's already peeved that a lot of my kits are neatly stacked up in the loft out of sight!
She made me have a 'stock take' a while back and it transpired that over the past 40 years, I've amassed over a thousand kits. That includes the 'special' stash that are still in boxed up in storage with some of our furniture. There is no way on earth that I am ever going to be able to build them all, so realistically, I should start selling them off. I know that's the right thing to do but they are my 'babies' and I really want to keep them safe!

I fear that there is no hope for me......

The magnificent solution to this problem is to announce you won't be building them, and that they are no longer a stash, but a collection!

Image

Mind you, I have a stash of non-Airfix items about that size too, so I'll have to devise a cunning plan for those too, or start building fast!

It's been a while now and at the time of the stock take all seemed present and correct, but after a little thought some of my kits are missing!! Now I know I had a Marivox Vampire and SAAB B17, and where's my Airfix club Blue Spitfire mkI?? I definitely had a Trumpeter 1/35 AS90 self propelled howizer!! Wonder what else I have missing??

. . . Dave (who's wondering what the rarest kit I have and if someone might point it out to me!!)

About 30 boxes 1000 X 600 X 300 , full of boxes of kits , plus numerous assorted sized boxes of modelling stuff . Something like 600 books , 25 years of magazines , most of which has been in storage for the best part of 2 years .

I have a reasonable excuse too. 8-)

I have quite a few more now and a load built. Like socks, you can never have enough. You don't end up with loads of odd ones though.

A pyramid of Spitfires! 8-)
Does it go all the way to the back of the loft as well?

The pyramid of Spitfires looks very nice. Near the top of the pyramid are 9 blue boxes I am not familiar with. Please can you tell me what brand this is?

Until recently I considered my stash as huge but I am not so sure now after seeing the pictures here.
My wife considers a stash of two kits as huge. Why have two? If you have two you can sell at least one of them.
:-)
