Width of yellow bands on Lightning T4s and XM973 photo??

Not sure if this is the right place to put this but I have been digging in every book I have and looking online. Does anybody know? They look like 36" on wings and fuselage to me.

Also, did the wing bands extend over the top and bottom of the flaps?

Thanks.

David

I thought I had a Warpaint on the Lightning, but no :(
FWIW Hannants 72200 shows yellow bands NOT on flaps, top or bottom.
The decal sheet does not indicate width. You could print it, compare width of bands to length of fuselage & figure it out.

I don't have that sheet but I can do that with the various drawings I do have.

Unfortunately, none of the references I have list the width of the bands. I can't find a photo of that airframe in 23 Sqn service either - Tony might know.

Re. the photo: thanks for trying. It's a very rare bird in those markings (XM973 in 23 squadron markings, folks). Anybody else happen to have the book "EE Lightning by Stewart Scott Vol 1", please?

The yellow bands were deleted in the 60s. Prior toTony's service.
