Detailing Cockpits

Post by Sidsdad70 »

This question has probably been asked before but is it best to thin out the paint a little before I detail the controls and the cockpit or should I just gently dab on my paint? I am just starting on the De Havilland Mosquito B.XVI 1:72 Airfix kit and this is my second kit. So I am still a relative newbie

If you are using Humbrol Acrylics then yes and don’t worry if it need a two coats. Use a palette ( a bottle top will do) Add a tiny amount of water at a time as over thin paint won’t stick.

Better to put a couple of thin coats on rather than risking a thick coat obscuring the details.
