The Griffon is the "baddie" piloted robot from the Patlabor Anime. I started work on this during a three day online course to keep my hands busy. The kit is old (1989) and basic, but does have polycaps and the fit is largely very good. The armature is hidden under a vinyl jacket, which is a bit fiddly to get on and does restrict the movement a bit. The simple paint scheme was done with Mr Hobby GX lacquers onto the bare plastic, black followed with a coat of gloss. Painting was done is two phases so that the , head, upper arms and legs, etc could be painted on without be obscured with subsequent parts. Clear red over silver for a few details - I wish I'd painted the inside of the red plastic "eye". All done in over a few days and very enjoyable build. Not super posable and the wings cause some balance issues (I should consider weighting the feet) but I'm really pleased with how it came out. I just need to get back to working on the slightly more involved Ingram https://uamf.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=22604 to keep him in check.

As subjects, these don't interest me, but I can appreciate nice construction and painting, which this has.

That's different and looks rather menacing!

I like it. The are a kick to build.

I know nothing about Anime but that's a cool looking figure. I could imagine it in a city/skyscraper dio demolishing everything and crushing a miniscule jet fighter in its fist.
