Airfix 2023 Range Announcement

Post by iggie »

In case anyone is interested, the new 2023 range announcement from Airfix will be made on Tuesday, 10th January at 4:00pm...

Anyone got any thoughts on what might be announced?
Best wishes

A range of TT: 120 kits to go with the new trains :ha:

A new 1/72 F4U Corsair would be nice.

Filling Airfix USA pre-orders of the Austin ambulance and the 1/48 Anson would be a nice gesture.

Hoping for one to two rare 1/32 cars to be re-issued. I predict there will be something scaled up/down as the last effect of lockdown on access to new subjects.

I also predict that they will not be tooling a Manchester or a Lincoln, both of which some corners of the internet keep bleating for.

The Airfix Club offering has just been announced and it’s 1/72 Meteor PR9 with two decal options, silver and camo. I guess if you want a PR9 then joining the club this year is your only option.

I've just renewed my membership so it'll be interesting to have a look at the extra parts that have been added to make the FR.9 variant...

I am a long-time bleater for a 1/72 2-seat Hunter.
But bearing in mind Airfix's investment already, I would be interested in a 1/72 Sea Vixen.

I have always wondered if Airfix would re-tool a Halifax; it's been an awful long time since they've had one in the range and although there is/was the Revell kit it has issues so perhaps the time is right. I'm probably wrong as there haven't been any reports of the Airfix team crawling over the Elvington example but....

Would be nice to see a new one. The old one was just an unbuildable mess of mis-moulded parts by the time it was retired and other offerings are getting a bit rare these days.
Best wishes

Well, based on the clue about White Waltham airfield, I’m fairly certain there’s going to be a Gannet. Hopefully it will be in 1/48.

I predict there won’t be another new tool Spitfire this year … but if there is, it will be a 1/72 high back Mk.XIV

I predict there will be a brand new Starter Set 1/72 Bf 109G-6. There will also be a starter set Aston Martin DB.4 and a 1967 Ford Mustang.

In the Vintage Classics range, I predict the 1/12 Napoleon, Oliver Cromwell, and Queen Elizabeth I. I also think there will be rereleases of the F2H Banshee, the F-86D, the SS Canberra, and the HMS Manxman.

With the exception of the Gannet, I’m certain all these will be wrong.

Last kit completed: Hasegawa 1/72 Yakovlev Yak-3

I've absolutely no idea what they're going to go for but I'd be surprised if they didn't expand their 1/35 Military Vehicles range more.

I would love to see a reissue of some of those motorcycle kits I remember as a kid. There was a BSA, BMW and an Ariel, there may have been others but I can't recall.
