1/72 Trumpeter KV-2 captured version
1/72 Trumpeter KV-2 captured version
A nice kit from Trumpeter. I built it OOB with the same colour scheme and camouflage as the boxart. This tank was slightly modified with a taller cupola which looks the same as the Pzkpfw IV. At the back you have the ammunition crates. The KV-2 had insufficient storage capacity inside the tank. Germans changed with this solution. More shells, but presenting an even bigger target from the back. The tank was also equipped with six jerry cans with reserve fuel (left side) The model was brush painted and dry brushed using Tamiya acrylics. Pinwashed with oils and streak effects with Pigma Micron pen.

That is excellent BB, either you have really good eyesight or extremely thick glasses. I had to read the title again to confirm it was 1/72 scale.

Thank you so much Andy and David.

I would have Coca Cola bottle glasses if my specs were not thinned down. Bad eyesight runs in my father´s side of the family. I´m probably a halfblind bat. No optical visors to aid my eyes. Just a dirty pair of glasses and squinty eyes.David Silver wrote: ↑January 20th, 2023, 6:17 pm That is excellent BB, either you have really good eyesight or extremely thick glasses. Another beauty. The weathering is excellent and the storage racks are a great addition.

Thank you so much Paddy. Glad you like it. I think without the crates the tank would look a bit sparse.

Excellent - good construction and finish with the added treat of the storage racks.

Looks great. I've always thought that huge turret must have made an easy target.

Thank you David. The Kv-2 is like a rolling cathedral. Another flaw is the weight issue. When turret turns all the way to the side the whole tank could topple over.DavidWomby wrote: ↑January 20th, 2023, 11:49 pm Looks great. I've always thought that huge turret must have made an easy target.
