I'm up for this. I've got a couple of candidates in the stash. A B29 or a C97 both Academy kits.

I have two tracks here:
-- originally I was looking at either a Monomail (1/72, resin, Dekno) or a Model 40B (1/72, resin, CMR) but I am not settled on the actual colors to use. I can look about and come up with something close enough that would work for both, I am sure, but it's not starting well.
-- however, it strikes me that a B-17 (1/72, Airfix n/t) should be in this. There may be a shelf space problem but I could "ceiling fly" with open bomb bay - that vastly simplifies the interior build but hides the very colorful scheme.

Decisions within decisions ....

The B17 is the iconic WW2 Boeing.
It's only pain, work through it.

Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Actually I had been thinking about a true first surface mirror display ala LifeTimemodeler, but I don't think it works because USAAF markings are not symmetric - the stars-n-bars appear upper-left and lower-right and sometimes there is a BG symbol on upper-right --- and --- I'd really like to do a shot-up Fort close to landing, some props running, some not, smoke trailing, gear not all down -- but that's all past my creativity. I am ignoring that not all the side windows, nose & waist, are symmetric.

I've just checked and this GB is due to start on 27th May, will someone be opening the GB shortly?

Apparently I'm joint GBL so I'll ask via the back channels (no sniggering at the back please! 😁)
Best wishes

If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing
