The Dzus fasteners have the wrong spacing
Correctly spaced for a Castle Bromwich built machine....

That's Dzus to me!

Anyhow, a coat of Dark Green has been applied. A second coat will be needed.

The exhausts have been painted with a mix of Copper and Rust. Usually I would tone this down with some grey and black, but I might not bother in this case.

Sorry for the poor light, the weather has been terrible for several days. Fortunately I am not trying to bleach decals in the sun!

The eggy Spit is looking really good Andrew, as is the Tiger II 😀
Best wishes

I've been referring to it as an Eggsfire when talking to my wife ( who is a Mitchell).

Both looking very good. Sorry I have been distracted by the usual and my two GB.

After three thin coats of dark green:

The canopy is not pushed into place yet. It seems a tight fit.

The lunchtime modelling session. Decals!

Image

The main decals are on the port side. The lettering size is close to 1/72 scale, so it should be easy to use alternative ones, if you fancy a different scheme.

You get decals for the wing leading edges, and front and back for the propeller tips. The wheel hubs are also decals.

Reminds me a little bit of an Extra 500 aerobatic plane.

I may swap out my B-17 for the B-24 Assembly ship after seeing Steve's Tiger.

Here's the kit.

And here's the book of ideas.

The Meng Liberator would look great in that tiger stripe assembly ship scheme, John. Good choice, I think.

Almost ruined it by dropping the kit whilst putting a decal on.
Very eggs-asperating. :ha:

Miraculously, the sun has appeared for the first time this week. All the decals are on. It needs matt varnish to cover the glossy bits around the decals. I have also had to add a bit of gap-filling CA to the port wing root, so that will need a tidy-up.
