Tamiya 1:48 M8 HMC

Post by Softscience »

Here are a few decent photos of Tamiya's new M8 I finished at the end of April.

It is a pretty nice kit, if a bit too basic in spots. I enhanced some of the external details, but didn't bother with the interior. I opened up the driver's hatch and raised one of the co-driver's periscopes. I also replaced the lifting lugs on the turret and gun mantlet, and replaced the handles on the MG.
I also added a bunch of stowage; some from a Black Dog set, and some from Apoxie Sculpt.

The kit is very easy to build. Everything fits extremely well, and Tamiya seems to finally have noticed that their 1/48 figures have been undersized, and give us an adult male sized figure with this kit.

Excellent job, I'm glad you included the figure as I'm not familiar with this vehicle at all and the figure gives a good indication of size.

Anything if this quality in 1/48 is excellent.

Really proves how small a base you can get away with. It tell you what you need to know. Another beautifully finished model Ralph.
