I'm looking forward being the guinea pig for this set of alternative parts in due course 😀
Best wishes

Andy,
that I agree. My acquaintance has done that with the TRMU 20, but I just want to make the basic Airfix kit useably more accurate. I have used wheels that I’ve printed, but the kit wheels can be adapted to fit (not easily to be fair!). The interior could be extensively re-worked but tbh, when everything is closed up you can see ‘not a lot’. Again, my acquaintance has really ‘gone to town’ with the details on his TRMU 20, but they cannot be seen.

Jim,
I anticipate sending you the tractor upgrade parts next week (PM me you address please). I need to get on with the Hurricane GB and a ‘blitz’ so there will be a delay before I get on with the trailer. I must write out the instructions this coming week, based on what I’ve done with the ‘mule’. You will also receive the very latest (definitive) prints - unless you determine otherwise!

Don’t know about you, but I am beggar’d if I understand that final comment!

When I measured the track of the assembled rear wheels, I found they were 2mm too close. My easy solution was to add a 1mm extension onto the outer ends of the ‘drum brakes’. Looking at the photo of an upside down Scammell and scale plans I need to set the walking beams 1mm further out. I will have a go this afternoon - it will make for easier trimming of the rear axle

I actually found 15 mins this morning, waiting for a rain shower to pass before taking the dogs out for a walk, and did the necessary amendments to the walking beams - I’ll test print some tomorrow.

I have the modifications for the ‘walking beams’ printed but I will have to rely on Iggie to test drive them.
I have added the final parts to the enhanced Airfix model. The steps for the rear cab, the fuel tank and the chain locker.

He is the trio:

‘MOLLY’ a model that has gone from mostly kit with a few ‘old school’ scratch built parts to something ‘better’. MOLLY has been refurbished, refitted and re-engineered over time, but is suffering and will be replaced with my next build.
Enhanced Airfix with about 90% replaced 3D printed parts
All resin TRMU 20 with no Airfix components.

I would add that there are no common components between the all resin model and any part of my resin enhancements.

The trailer is next for working on but I’ve other projects to prioritise on.

I am finishing a couple of templates for positioning and cutting for you to road test Jim. I will knuckle down and produce the instructions and get everything off to you, possibly this week. Just a reminder to PM me your address please.
