Jim, there is no great rush (I just bought one off Amazon prime as it proved to be the cheapest source). I still need to build one myself using all the latest parts and create an instruction sheet to supplement that provided in the kit.
I’ve a kit in green and one in grey. I shall build the ‘green one’, as I did previously, to show the resin parts. The grey one will be built and painted.

The kit has been ordered...I thought I had one in stash but can't find it, so the arrival of a new one will guarantee the other one showing up

A little more progress has been made with various enhancements. This time, fairly essential as there are a few areas where the original parts are not quite in the correct place.

Guess what arrived today

Oh very good. I’ve spent today creating some more bits, I’ve one area on the tractor unit to tackle and then I shall do some re-working on the trailer to make it the earlier 30-ton version. Doesn’t look overly difficult to back date it to something passable.

The parts have printed, been washed and cured. In the photo are the latest version of the walking beams with ‘brake drums’ (because it allows me to know they are the newest and because the wheels will achieve a narrower track and be held square). To their left is a perch bar rear support and to the right, the 2 parts of the prop shaft. Above is a set of wheels for the ‘new’ walking beams.

The parts work well although the tolerances are a bit tight so I am doing some minor adjustments. I am generally very pleased with the way they are working.

I’ve been tweaking bits to ensure they fit and get printed properly. I am pretty much done with the tractor so just need to look at the enhancements for the trailer; apparently Airfix make quite a good effort in getting it right, so it is just a case of creating a few improvements.

Rather than sacrifice a new kit of the Scammell TT, I decided to re-cycle the mule I had been using to show-case my first efforts. I removed the all the resin parts I needed to and then went to work on the plastic. I’ve removed everything I needed in order to re-construct with all the new bits.

Time for some reconstruction.
Firstly it is necessary to prepare the chassis. In the following photo, the grey chassis has had the raised portion at the rear removed but the frame at the front has circular ‘bits’ (release points?). These need to be carefully straightened in line with the inner and outer faces of the chassis - not doing this can impact the position and fitting of the radiator. At the rear, as seen on my original and the grey chassis, the raised portion and the rear cross members need removing and the inner edges filed to match the lower inner walls of the chassis. A swipe or 2 with a fine file does it.
The front of the cab (part 2) requires the ‘ships rivets’ removing and the hole for the air-filter (part 12) needs filling (I’ll not be bothering doing either on this sample build).
The engine and propshaft need to be separated at the bell housing, the peg that is supposed to position the engine need to be removed. The bell housing needs to be drilled out with a 1.5mm drill to accept the replacement part.

I have attached the bonnet and, after trimming the top ridge off the radiator, attached that. The next task was to test fit the axle unit. I had to file the front face of the U piece on the chassis (used to hold the rear of the kit axle) to achieve a good fit.
In addition I filed down the rear section of the ‘engine’ by about 1.5mm as it shows too much under the vehicle.
I planned on fitting the perch bar support but I’ve had to adjust the CAD drawing as I had made it too narrow (so much for the ‘measure twice’ concept.
The perch bar is the U-shaped brace from the front axle to the support.
