The open top version with the (Frazer-Nash?) turret that may or may not have turned. This kit was appallingly cast - with major mould misalignment and every part full of air bubbles - it required endless filler and rivet replacement. All the wheels and tires needed a complete rebuild, as did many other parts. Sand channels etc. were replaced with scratched up versions. Yet in the end after a lot of work it does get the overall 'look' right, so I think whoever made the original master did a great job. Whoever did the casting on the other hand... well let's just say they have put me off buying any more from Millicast.
I based the vehicle and crew on one of the few photos of this type bowling along a dusty track. The photo shows the left front mudguard longer than the other, the caunter pattern painted over the headlight covers, and what may have been a few branches jammed in the back - presumably to help break up the silhouette.

That's a really great job of a less than great sounding kit, Ben. Those scratched up sand channels really look the part but I bet drilling them out in this small scale was endless entertainment!

Very well done ! Your description of the kit is accurate and now that I have seen what you have done, I will have to dig my part-started one out.

Thanks all for the comments. It may have been a pain of a build but I'm glad to have it with the rest of the armoured cars.
Ouch! You've got one too? If you can get the wheels and tires sorted the rest isn't too bad. As long as you don't mind carving and filling.JohnRatzenberger wrote: ↑October 21st, 2023, 4:16 pm Very well done ! One of those magical modelling moments! It must have been good practice as I made better ones next time some were needed.
