This was a test build done using Tony's 3D parts: not so much a test of the parts but of the instructions, which on the whole were pretty good
The only original parts remaining are the chassis and the cab interior

Looking very good.
A couple of points mainly for Tony:
1) the tread on the rear wheels are going in different directions - presumably, these are handed, maybe L and R moulded inside?
2) you posted this great pic in Simon's WB which shows the rear "balloon" tires well. The printed parts have the wheel hub flush with the outer face of the tire, should they be recessed and with the tire wall curving inward or the tire wall bowing outwards?

That really is a massive improvement on the base kit.
The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

It´s a fine job. Well done Jim!

IN reply to JP above the tyre treads are handed- well spotted and the photo posted is of the first 30 ton trailer prototype. I don't think that there are any in service photos of a tractor with these tyres.
For the full development of the Scammell 30 ton trailers of which there were three versions following the prototype development see Tankette back issues where they are described with my co-author Richard Harley.
There was of course a fourth 30 ton trailer but it wasn't developed by Scammell but Shelvoke and Drewry. It replaced the 20 ton trailers of which around 110 were made. So go see Tankette even if you have to join MAFVA to find them. S and D trailers were also hitch to Diamond T tractor units- I have made a conversion kit for the Revell DT tank transporter tractor unit to hitch to this trailer and also to convert it to a soft top cab version. Overall they made more than 400 of these 30 ton trailers.
All four trailers are now available to buy from me if you want the ultimate Scammell 1/76 or 1/72 30 ton or 20 ton model. I have just upgraded the model of the tractor.
