To my mind by far the best braille scale Matilda - it just looks... right. This is a repaint and restoration job on a kit I built many years ago which the years and a house move had not been kind to - missing hatches, various bits broken off, the usual. I managed to clean off the worst of my old overweathering wuth turps, brushes, and cotton wool buds, and touched up the decals as best I could after a fresh coat of thinned down acrylic paint. Tried to keep the weathering more subtle this time around. Opened up the driver's hatch and added a little chap from the spares box - I twisted his head so he looks as though he's checking the mirror. The base is of course an old Matchbox one with some minor tweaks, and the standing tanker figures are from Orion. I have several old Matildas in varying states of disrepair, some of which will likely be resurrected in new guises.

The past, present, and future walked into a bar. It was tense.

I would not have known it was an old kit ressurected if you hadn't of said so. As for new guises what would be great to see would be the mine clearer with the Ford engine bolted on the side and the flail as used during the El Alemain battles.
It's only pain, work through it.

Lovely work
Best wishes

Very nicely done, and who doesn't love a Matilda II?
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?

Thanks all for the nice comments. I don't know why but somehow the Matilda II can look elegant. More than most British military vehicles of the time.
In fact I have one I built years ago in need of some tlc, so it might show up at some point. I'd like to do the turretless Baron mineflayer as well - never used operationally but looked dam cool. Trouble is I have a significant stash of unbuilt kits to get on with...

Fantastic work on the Tilda and the figures. Looks great on the Matchbox vignette.
