I can’t believe it’s going better than the Matchbox kit I built

As one of my favourite looking aircraft I've spent ages staring and photographing the one in Cosford that they LIDAR scanned for this model. I'll need at least two as I like both schemes they offer, particularly the tank buster with the huge cannon sticking out the front. I should really finish my Monogram 1/48 scale one first though.

Got to hand it to Airfix, they're getting the new products and the marketing right.
It's only pain, work through it.

Yeah, I've just watched a nice step by step build video on YouTube and it looks to be a cracker of a kit.

Well this is a surprise. I built the MB kit many years ago and, naturally, chose the version with the telegraph pole sticking out the front :ha:

Mine, unfortunately, have not yet arrived... it seems that DPD have lost the parcel, but won't admit this to Airfix, who in turn will not send me replacements until they do. 11 days later, I'm not overly impressed, especially as when DPD do actually manage to get parcels this far, they invariably drop them in front of the garage (not even the designated 'safe place') without even attempting to walk down the path and ring the door bell. One driver doesn't even bother doing that, but claims to have 'missed us' and leaves the package for the next day's driver to deliver.
According to our old DPD driver who still lives in the village, this is because the drivers are given to many drops in the day, but also are fined if they don't deliver the required amount each hour.
Whilst I acknowledge that things like this happen from time to time, I do object a little to being the only one at a disadvantage when I am supposed to be the customer!
Best wishes

Jim

The whole business model for the "lower end" deliery companies is not geared to customer service or rewarding the staff fairly. I now ask for either DHL which here in Germany is the Post Office or UPS even if they do charge more

They should stick to Royal Mail, I've been a postie for 34 years and rarely get complaints from my customers😜I had to brag, sorry cant help myself.

I agree wholeheartedly! Our postie, Simon, simply opens our back door and leaves the post on the table.
I would at least like the option of Royal Mail, even if at extra cost, as in rural areas like ours there can be a couple of square miles covered by the fans postcode, with the majority of houses having names not numbers; Amazon, Evri, DPD etc really cannot cope with this!
Best wishes
