Renault R.35 (1/72 First To Fight)

Post by B4en »

The first kit I've made from this Polish company, and it's tiny but a blinder! Simple construction, crisp details, near perfect fit, hardly any cleanup required. I was caught out by the sprue inside the rear idler rim which is tricky to remove and resulted in minor (but easily repairable) breakages. Also the turret vision ports need to be attached from the inside of the turret and not, as the instructions seem to suggest, from the outside - this I discovered only after gluing the main turret parts together. These are minor quibbles though.

The camo is presented in the (Polish language only) info booklet that comes with the kit - there are French decal options as well. I assume this is a Polish scheme - it seemed like an interesting change from the usual French stylings seen on models of this tank. As usual matt enamel primer followed by acryIics for the painting, with lots of retouching in this case. I'm looking forward to trying more F2F kits.

Another well-executed complex colour scheme.

Thanks guys, I'm getting more into different camo schemes these days. It helps to have found an art shop that sells really good quality tiny brushes.
