Great looking build Ratch; it just looks so "busy". I never really looked twice at the Gannet before but I have seen so many reviews of this kit now that it seems inevitable that I will add one to the stash before long and you build here certainly adds to that - it looks superb so well done mate!

Thanks guys. The Gannet is a bit of an ugly duckling in my book, but I have fond memories of the old Frog 1/72 kit - one of the first models I remember building. While I would not have chosen to buy this aeroplane in 1/48, now that I've built it I can say its another wonderful kit from Airfix, on a par with the Sea King

That's a great looking build Richard, and very quick off the blocks too!
Best wishes

Ah, the beautifully ugly Gannet! Very nicely done, Ratch and it looks great all folded up.

Not my scale, obviously, but a very nice build nonetheless. We used to have one here in San Antonio, based at Stinson Field, but it was sold to somebody else several years ago. Wish I had taken detail photos of her when I had the chance!
Mike

Here's her history- used as a prop test ship by Dowty and Hamilton Standard, but then sold to the Pima Air museum, where she is no longer airworthy and is baking in the Arizona sun; she deserved a better fate, especially after all the work to make her airworthy again.
