Prop blades given the basic paintwork.
Needs some chipping and weathering, obviously.
Meanwhile back to the sadly neglected Sea King build. Fuselage windows installed and the fuselage is in the process of being closed up.
The fuselage is extremely complex to fit together, so I'm working from the back and gradually gluing it together. The fit seems good.

Not too bad. The rotor housing top piece is a bit crooked.

The Big Spit is looking great, Andrew, but it looks like the Sea King is putting up a fight. A bit of sanding to blend it in might cure that that rotor top piece. Not losing any of the windows is a great bonus!

The Sea King should be okay with a bit of sanding and a wee bit of filler. Nothing too serious!
Meanwhile, I've painted a few more canopy frames. The front windscreen is not completely painted yet.
I've added the wing walkway lines using a black permanent marker. I may try and use the original Hasegawa stencils which go around them. They might be a bit yellowed, but that can be easily disguised!
There's also some wear and tear added at the wingroot and round the edges of the gun bay covers.

The wing stencils applied and matt varnished.
A also used a sepia wash on the leading edges to match the photo I am working from.

Wheels on!
The undercarriage doors were primed, but then the Light Blue pooled - looks like the surfaces needed degreasing more. The u/c legs have been the least satisfactory bit of the build so far. They don't lock at the right angles, and the tyres seem to be vertical, not slightly slanted. Never mind.

Super looking Spitfire Andrew. I still can't force myself to build one - currently at least 45 years a Spitfire free modelling zone...

Moving very slowly with this build due to Real Life.
A respray of the sliding canopy frames, and the undercarriage doors. The armoured windscreen is in the paint shop, but will need another coat of green on the frame.
