1953 Ford F-100 Pickup Truck-1/25 AMT

Post by Britwit »

I ordered this a day ago and it might be in by the end of this week. I am going to do it as a stock no frills build. I built one many years ago but want to do it a little bit better. Here is the kit and the one I did some time ago. The upcoming one will be a stock '53 Ford color, maybe seafoam green or Sheridan blue.

I built on a couple of years ago, nice kit. I have another one in my stash which I will build stock like yours which looks great.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You want to do the next one better,? That one you did already looks great. Lovely finish to it.

It did come out nice, the engine color was right color, wrong shade. I didn't do the trim, Ford badge on the hood or the V on the front grill and I should have painted the FORD letters on the tail gate. I guess I am saying I didn't pay attention to the detail OR just plain got lazy! There's always room for improvement.

Kit arrived early. I have the plastic washed and the engine block, heads, intake manifold assembled and painted.

I want to get as close to this color as I can using my current paint.

The engine is done as far as I want to go with it. I will put the radiator hoses on after it is installed in the chassis.

Odd, why 6 pipes when a V8 has eight cylinders? Think AMT goofed and use a crossover for a V6? OOOPPPSSSS, my goof, theres 2 cylinders in the middle. See photo of real deal.
