Supermarine Swift re-release, just wish it was an F.4

Got something to say about the hobby of model making?

Supermarine Swift re-release, just wish it was an F.4

Post by CementNotGlue »

Hi all
According to an Airfix tweet, the FR 5 Swift is going to be in the shops again. The only thing that would encourage me to purchase it would be if I could finish it as a F 4 WK198. Only my book by CF Andrews and EB Morgan does not reveal what colour it was. Would anybody like to guess?

Pale blue. IIRC Paul Bradley modelled one a few years back using the old Hawk kit.

Yep, back in 2008!!

Definitely a light blue, and for the record-breaking runs, black nose and tail sections with, apparently, a red tip to the nose.

Incidentally, WK198 was a bit of a hybrid - not a true F.4. Check out my thread - it explains why.

Thanks Paul and Andrew for replying. Posts are very helpful. As is 'Supermarine Aircraft since 1914'
I like the way the decal sheet lends its self to the conversion. Dilema of position of undercarriage.
