All models are equal. Some models are more equal than others.

Following a throwaway comment in another thread:
Interesting subject, I thought, and covers the people who weren't Alcock and Brown or Lindbergh. But the unexpected pleasure was these:
12 beautiful colour 1/72 scale paintings of the key aircraft, from the Sopwith "Atlantic" to Fokker F.VIIB.3M...
And some fabulous detail "tone painting"" cross sections:
best,
M.

A fiver for four issues, dating from 1974. Edited by Chris Ellis, does pretty much what it says on the title page! Another one 1974-me didn't know existed (cf Almark "Modelworld") Getting into some of these older modelling resources, what jumps out is the amount of interesting, well-researched reading matter, and the general rubbishness of the photos! I think the pendulum may have swung too far the other way...
Anyone remember this from back in the day?
best,
M.
Re: My library just grew......
No but I used to have a few of the Airfix modeller guides . WWII Armour, Afrika Korps (had the DAK armoured car with the DAK badge on it), basic modelling guide, WWII Fighters, Aicraft modelling and a couple of others I forget
It's only pain, work through it.

Courtesy of a glowing review in a vintage "Scale Models" magazine and a Barbadian bookshop via abebooks...
Copiously illustrated, with coverage from te 1928 Cirrus Moths that were DH Canada's first products to the Dash 7 and Dash 8, though naturally Chippy's, Beavers, Otters and Twotters, and Caribou get the lion's share of the development and operational history...
It's not an easy book to find, at least this side of the pond (hence the fact that mine came, at a very reasonable price, across the Atlantic), but those of you on the other side, north or south of the 49th parallel should be able to lay your hands on one more locally! Just in time for that new Dora Wings Beaver...
