I find these old model books fascinating, they dhow what could be achieved without all the modern accessories we have available to us nowadays. Of course it required more effort and time but a valuable resource for all tight wads  A quid off eBay.

These are the fault of VickersVandal (recent Sopwith Dolphin), iggie (recent Sopwith Swallow), and PaulBradley (long running discussions about a Brooklands GB). I was quite surprised when I found I had neither the Putnam nor the Harleyford and it would be rude to buy only one.

I entirely blame @JohnRatzenberger for this, but a copy of the Putnam "Sopwith Aircraft 1912-20" now sits nestled on the shelf between Shorts and Supermarine...

Blame accepted :)

I am in AMU all day for chemo & transfusion and have my copy with me - gotten as far as Dolphin so far. Mr King’s writing style is a bit difficult at times, plus he digresses to politely disagree with other authors of the era such as Harald Penrose.

Maybe we need a Sopwith Group Build and Book Club :)

The big boys - interesting selection, I like the 1st, 2nd, 3rd gen progression approach.

Indeed. I’ve yet to acquire the kit though.
