Hers is my Blitzbau completion. It is a Heller Spitfire Mk XVI in 1/72 scale. The decals are a mixture of Carpena, CMR & home made.

I had a real nightmare with the tail tricolour. They both curled up at each corner.

It did not look like this at the end of the Blitz, I added wingtip lights with a CD marker pen, sprayed it with matt varnish, added a whip aerial & some exhaust staining.

Image

A great kit for a blitzbau having only 32 pieces but the undercarriage is soooo thin it can barely support the kit!

Not a bad result though.

Back to the Skua now.

I like that old kit OT. Good work getting the decals together for that unusual scheme. This version is included in the Italeri 1/48th kit I think.
So many models, so little time.

Well done it's one of my favorite kits, that scheme suites it.

Oops, it's been quite a while since I updated here.

I have been a bit slow on the bench lately as work has been frantic but I have taken part in a few group builds.

So here is my progress since Blitzbau IX.

Both the new tool Airfix kits with a mix of kit, spare & home made decals.

I will attempt to clear the workbench and have a crack at some un-finished builds between now & Xmas.

I have a 6 lunch times left at work before the holidays so next up one of these down-graded Spitfires:

Here we go then with a few shots of the interior (sorry for the quality of the images - using my phone!)

This looks like a nice kit but as for accuracy I am not the man to ask.
Dirk, what do you know about this kit?

I have managed to do a little more on the P-51.

The fit is very good but I am not sure that Academy have gotten the dihedral correct.
Still it's only a Mustang. :-D

There may be a break in transmission now as Xmas is upon us & I am moving offices.
So seasons greetings to all my plastic fanatic comrades out there.

I've hardly had the time to post these last few months OT but it's good to see your great work once again. Couple of nice Spits there amongst others. I have that Mustang in the stash so it will be nice to see how yours turns out.

Time for a quick update:

The Vampire is coming along nicely:
Image

Should make the deadline - fingers crossed. :-D

I am plodding on with the Mustang although aircraft doesn't do anything for me! :???:

Image

It's more of an excersise in NMF paint. I will darken a few panels and polish some others. I want it to end up as a SAAF bird in Korea but I don't have the decals yet. Must get ordering some stuff.

This afternoon was spent with my youngest building a Revell Starwars kit.

He is a hard task master - we completed this in just over an hour (including time for a sandwich. 8-) )
