Taking the young brother in law to see this. The last one was about 7 years ago so it's long overdue. I'll make sure to take lots and lots and lots of pictures, especially of the B-52 that will be paying us a visit.

"No Spitfire, Mustang, Vampire, Sabre, Canberra, Mirage, F-111" They are all over East, tyranny of distance etc. Agree that the Roulettes should be given something with a little more .... performance but we're only a small, pokey little air-force and can't afford all that stuff.
As for the F-111 as per strict US disposal guidelines they were all chopped up and buried underneath a few thousand tons of landfill. Broke my heart to see that.

Yup, two passes, total time at the base ~5-minutes and then back to Guam. What makes it all the more impressive is that another one came back today as well. Hate to think how much that cost Uncle Sam but bless him for thinking of us.Brews wrote:The Buff just flew low and dirty, huh.

Thanks for sharing!
B-52s deploy to airshows as part of a training mission, so no "waste" per se. Same with, for example, the T-45s that deployed here for the Open Day - they use it as a training exercise. The pilot I was talking to was talking to had only made 5 flights in the type and hadn't even soloed in it yet, but was on his first cross-country. Good experience for him and a treat for us, the public.
