>Two Shackletons and none too shabby either. I wish my pauses were so productive!<
TBH, 'pause' in flutespeak means displacement activity when I start to get worried about my ability to complete something else to the level I want to, of which there are 5 examples within arms reach of the desk (one of which I dropped and severely mangled while rigging early in December). The Shackletons were great fun to build but I must admit there are many unforgivable self-induced botches which would make them back-of-the-cabineters, except they're so huge they need a shelf each. Probably going into boxes in the garage instead. The E15, OTOH, nicely fitted into an empty space without having to re-shuffle the other models.
Looking around, there's a 1/48th Kinetic Harrier T4 that I paused just before painting. Should really restart that, it wouldn't take long. And I've had a K-type WWI sub finished all but for the (hard to define) railings that festoon the deck, litterally gathering dust. Must. Finish. It. Then the 2 big jets. Also roughly counted the partial builds nicely boxed up with the references, stopped when I got to 30 and lost track. If I finish those there will be 2 shelves freed up, but they'd then be filled by the completed models, with no dust protection. Which you really don't want with biplanes. Fun fun fun, in a way.
Paul.

Really enjoying your builds, Paul. Even the Shackeltons. Hard for a submariner to appreciate any ASW platform.
I really like the E15.

Really nothing pithy to say.

Paul,
I have just found your thread and spent a most enjoyable couple of hours catching up with the whole thing. I am impressed with your bi-plane fetish, but what an interesting and eclectic mix of models. I have added impetus to get a grip with the bi-planes I must build.

Thanks, everyone. Getting on with the 2 Kingfishers, then we'll see if I can drag myself back to the Elephants..............

What a treat it is to see you building your magnificent models again, Mr Flute!
I especially like the E15K1 since I've got the antique Aoshima one in the pile.
Yours is far better than anything I could manage and that last pic of it on the beaching gear is a real keeper!

Thanks - it's a really nice little kit, and the beaching trolley comes with it.The Great Auk wrote:What a treat it is to see you building your magnificent models again, Mr Flute!

Eclecticer and eclecticer. Airfix and AZ Models Kingfishers. Conflicting photo evidence about the second scheme (Australian Antarctic expedition, 1947 or 48 depending on who you believe), and in the end I left off one aeriel cable I wasn't sure of, and decided the walkways had been overpainted.
White Ensign PE used on the Airfix kit, but should also have replaced the engine. Ho hum..........

A nicely done pair of Kingfishers, Paul. One of these days I will get round to building a seaplane and/or a flying boat.

Agree with Shaun, nice to see it in yellow for a change.
It's only pain, work through it.

Those are some magnificent Kingfishers indeed. I find the yellow one unique and especially appealing.
It warms me on this chilly morning to see yet more of your wonderful models, Mr Flute.
