Thank you Stu and Mark.

Just unforeseen events giving me extra stress and worry, then there's stuff that popped up January. It will be better when summer comes, I hope. ;-)
Been without a car for nearly three weeks as well so that's not helping either. It gets tedious having to borrow other people's cars or get driven to here and there. Tomorrow I'm gonna use my bicycle instead (if weather is as nice as today!), as I'm only going 5km to a place we're off hiking. Can't complain on the workout!

If you want to keep your sanity, you know to stay away, especially from these two. The Queen Mary 2 and QE2 looks easier, I've fiddled with the sprues and looked at instructions. But then there is Color Fantasy in same scale, think I'll leave that one bottom in closet for a loooong time, until I get an urge to dig it out just to mess with my head! :-D

Got a start on the Typhoon and Hurricane today. What a blast to work on aircraft again.
Then when I get to the decal stage I will hate it again and dig out a ship! :ha:

And I got fuselage together on both, pleased with progress!

Fit of Typhoon is very good. I just had to squeeze the front together. Will leave it like this overnight.

I wonder if anyone has had this 'problem' with the new tool Hurricane? The lower part of wing sits higher, sanding is needed. The wing edges will also need sanding as upper and lower not matching 100%.

It's great to see some action on the Mayhem Bench and I must say those ships have turned out very well. Back to planes as well I see. Well I've no experience with either of those kits but I'm sure you'll turn them into something good!

Thanks Jeff and Shaun. :)

I had to turn back my gaming laptop. Too much blue screen/freeze problems with those Alienware, found it was rather common after checking the web. That said, it sure is the coolest thing I've had in this house, it's insanely good looking, great nifty features, it's a lightshow too! Specs high end and gaming performance was so sick I was just shocked. The overall feel of it was like from a different world. Wow. But... I want stability and know I can get the same specs in others.
I'm now been looking at MSI, Multicom or ASUS gaming laptops. Goodness, it's hard trying to find the one for me. I've done a lot of checking, will decide in a few days. The ASUS ROG G750 looks very nice with 265GB SSD + 750GB SATA rpm7200 and GTX780, and it's much more silent than the others given it's excellent cooling system... Decisions, decisions...

I've just bumped into the wing-fuselage fit issue. I put it down until tomorrow to be sure all the glue-to-date had dried well and I'll look at fitting the wing tomorrow ....

Prisca, the Belfast looks great! Sometimes you just have to walk away for a bit and then coming back to a build is bearable. Lovely work.

Wow, the Belfast is stunning! Hard to believe it can look so dainty in that scale.

Thanks guys. :)

Glad you approve on Belfast.
I might get back to bench later today, if I have time. I also need to photograph my 14 Spitfires.

So, I finally went up to the bench! Goodness, time is flying fast!

Had to blow dust of the two planes I had started, Airfix new tool Hurricane and Typhoon. Well, just looking at them I was bored. Packed them up and into closet, will continue later date.
The Sea Venom was also put away for now (not started). Out with some car kits.

Image

Both of these cars (on bench) are two tone, never done that before. So I'm already terrified of masking/how to etc. The greenhouse is set up with the box and fan and all ready for spraying again. I'm planning on atleast spray the bodies of all the cars in my stash this summer, so I can build them later or whenever I feel like.
Both of these AMT kits come with lots of parts that looks fiddly, and options for stock/racing/custom. Stock is most appealing to my eye. I'm not following real life colors on the cars, hey they can always be resprayed! Long ago I had that in mind and though of some colorful choices. The Ford Victoria will have yellow/purple color and the Ford Fairlane will have white/green (this is more normal color though). I thought I had white primer, but only grey. I'll try get some Thursday when I'm off to the city on the mainland and will be driving by shops with decent selection.

Then I dug out this one. A Monogram kit. Chevy Impala.

Image

The blue metallic plastic looks pretty nice. And I do have 1/3 left of a Tamiya metallic blue spray can, so I am tempted (but unsure it's enough paint?). But I also have a half full can of gloss blue. Will use either to just to use up the cans.

I'm off on holiday again on Friday, and until then will be busy. It really is summer here now (has been for a while), and I'm loving beach time and all the hikes we're doing. But it was nice being at the bench again. I sat there for 3-4 hours, just fiddling around with these three kits; removing flash, sanding a little on the bodies to prepare for primer. Amazing how quickly the time flew by!

Cheers, stay tuned. ;-)

I really like the color myself. I have some left of a red gloss Tamiya spray can as well, but I am mostly headed towards blue. The metallic I have is probably as dark as the bodycolor, which means pretty nice. The glossy blue is a tad lighter.

Earlier tonight I got a little itch and started two small car kits.

One of the supports for front window was broken so I superglued it back on. I've glued parts of interior together and some work on the underside, plus painting here and there. For such a tiny kit there sure are lots of parts!

Here's the other kit. Snap fit, allthough I think glue is needed couple of places. Compared to Mercedes above, this really doesn't have many parts at all.

Here they are, mostly painted. Hard to see from pic, but dashboard is two colors, silver and bluegrey like interior painted. The body is like the sprues, all yellow. But I did give it one coat of color. It will need another coat for decent coverage. I regret doing it yellow, but eh... why not? :-D
