Cheers, Blohm and Dazzled. Good to be back.

An extremely busy day, but I've just been outside priming the Impala, Victoria, Mercedes 540-K, then spraying the yellow Chevy Bel Air.
I had to do some pretty horrible things, like licking sun, playing chess and eating pizza at a friends house on his terracce, then coming home and doing a workout session (I've begun weight/strength training), then to have family from the south over on surprise visit. At 9pm I could finally start working on the cars... What a lovely Sunday!

Rather pleased. On Tuesday I hope to get white primer so I can do the Victoria.
Perhaps I will get time tomorrow night/afternoon to start the fun part of the spraying, adding some colorful paint. But first a hike along some beaches then swimming. Too bad sea is still a bit cold, but doesn't stop me and a couple others from bathing/swimming.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Best wishes

I hope you make your Belfast better than mine. Two, huh. Build em with passion. ;-)

Thanks, mate. Sadly I haven't had time for missing the bench. But I have big plans for rest of year. And it's a good feeling sitting there. Even if just staring at the boxes. :-D

LOL, I had to google that. I only have one word for it. Bizarre. :-D

Couldn't agree more. There is something unique about them, the look, the feel, the soul.

I have been playing with spraycans, with variable results, to use up paint as I am converting to airbrushing!
As my dad isn't using his brand new Aztek he gave it to me, along with spray boot, compressor and other equipment. I played around a bit tonight, testing on a car (which probably has 20 layers of paint), and it was really fun. So when I get back from holiday I will have it set up and first start with airbrushing cars and ships.

Here is the Mercedes 540, red metallic.

The masking wasn't my best on the Victoria. First attempt the tape peeled off paint, so this time I used low adhesive tape which I was very pleased with, I thought I had covered well, but paint must have gotten through, tape was thin. Gonna fix it when I get home. Part on doors and all frames will be chrome. Hopefully it will look nice. No rushing on this one...
Love the colors!

You temp me to break out my 50s kits, a T bird, Fairlane and Belaire.

Airbrushes are far superior, they save time and effort and just look better.

Wow, that's a very generous donation by your dad. No more rattle cans now then 8-) Great looking motors and I bet it won't be long before we see some mottled German fighters, expertly done with your new airbrush

Nice colours on the autos Sissel but a shame about the paint bleed through. Have you thought about doubling up the tape to form a better barrier?

Thank you. I can't wait to carry on with them. Might be able to progress in little over a week. I am very happy with the colors.

I did that, two layers and making sure they stuck well. But low adhesive it probably lifted during spraying. Spraycan paint is more heavy and has likely floated under. I must have gone extra crazy on this side as the other side is flawless with no bleed, and the rear is fine too.
One of the side doors had minor bleed, I micromeshed that away, and now you can't tell. :)
The bleed on the door in pic above doesn't matter as that will be bmf'ed. So I wasn't too worried with the bmf areas. There's lots of chrome on this car.
Patience tester for sure...

Mottling!?
I need to get fully over the rigging nightmare flashbacks first. :ha:

Bring out those cars, Chris. Would love to see you build them. Fairlane is a beauty.

I should, I haven't built one in years and years.

The fairlane is the 500 from 1957, a really pretty car.
