I'm tempted to use the fuselage band decal but I've never ever done that successfully so I'll wait! I've got to spray the nacelle sky anyway. Getting impatient I suppose can't get the decals on before that. I put a splodge of Tammy's sky on the decal sheet to compare it's much darker than Uncle Airfixes.

I used the fuselage band decal as I couldn't be bothered to set up the airbrush for such a little spray! Worked out ok - a little crease but pretty good really. After a good few dousings in microsol anyway! Lots of stencils on this one for a Ww2 bird so called it quits for the evening and sealed it up and will let it dry up. Still on for a finish!

Getting ahead of myself as the Spit crawls its way to the finish line I've decided to build this old stash queen. Must be time to build it the staples on the instruction booklet are going rusty!

I'm very interested to see what you do with the SBD. Mine sits unfinished a good eight or nine years since I bought it, simply because I could not get the stupid windscreen to fit. So be mindful of that.

Or maybe it's just me. Sometimes it's just me. :) I don't know how, or why, but it is.

Had to try it now! Actually looks spot on with a dry fit in the closed configuration anyway

I must have messed something up with the fit elsewhere, that transferred itself into the canopy. It overhangs the small lip that it should rest on. Right about where you have a few pieces of tape .

That seems all good - we'll see what happens when glue and extra parts are added! It's the suspense that gets you

Got the wheels painted to a reasonable standard, one side seperate hubs so the last of the decals and the prop and nacelle to attend to. Nearly there!
