'Circuits and Bumps' book
I hope you don't mind me sharing this but the series I wrote for SAMI is being released in book form, and should be available at Telford:
Build and Convert: Circuits and Bumps
One of the shortcomings of the magazine articles was the paper quality and also the size at which some of the pics were reproduced, so this should address both of those (although I haven't seen the book yet).

Congrats, Mike.
I'd been pushing Gary H for long enough, along with others, so I'm not surprised to see this. £10 is a good price and I hope you are suitably recompensed.
Of course, it's probably your fault that Paul's Firefly book wasn't published!
Rgards,
Bruce

Thanks Bruce, and to everyone else who lobbied for the book.MerlinJones wrote:Congrats, Mike.

As for recompense, it doesn't look as if I'll make a penny out of it but it's still exciting

That's great news Mike, shame about not reaping any benefits.
They are certainly popular articles, I borrow SAMI from our library, one of the last ones I saw had circuits and bumps cut out of it.... some one must have been collating their own book , or there was some racy content I missed that has been censored
Cheers
Jim

Wonderful news, Mike. See emailing does work. On order.

Nice one Mike. I very much hope I'll be able to pick up a copy at Telford - I'll keep an eye on them as well and see what sales are like!

Fantastic - even though I have all the magazine articles, this book will be on my (growing) "to buy" list at Telford.
They were truly inspirational projects.

Re: 'Circuits and Bumps' book
WOO HOO it arrived today!!!!
Nice quality for a paper back, a bit thicker paper than the mag, the colours seem a bit too red though, Mike's stunt fingers are very pink in my copy.
Two things I'm disappointed in though, that Mike doesn't think he'll get any part of the proceeds, and that the Draken article isn't in it, or Mike's how to that goes with it about mounting them in flight. Purely selfish peeve though, as Mike had a one of my pictures in it ..
Brilliant having all the articles in one though, now I can catch up on the ones I could never find in the Library
Cheers
Jim
EDIT: Just having a browse and noticed the Mirage F1 build is not in it either, or Sopwith Pup.... I should have looked at the contents on the SAM website more carefully.....

Re: 'Circuits and Bumps' book
I forget...how many did Mike do? I'm wondering if there's enough for a Vol.2?
Notice also the name of the series.

Do you mean the Classic Plastic? I noticed that tonight and was wondering if we are going to have one for Paul's section? Awesome if so...

Re: 'Circuits and Bumps' book
People better start writing Paul a few articles if they want to see themselves 'perfect bound' in a bookshop.

I don't think that's called a 'bookshop'.....JamesPerrin wrote:...they want to see themselves 'perfect bound' in a bookshop.
