Yep. Not too bad, once you get the bits to fit. Very little filler required. The decals are very fragile. Especially the serials. Be very careful to slide them into place direct from the backing paper, as they have a nasty tendency to try and fold into a ball. Use soapy water to slide them into position, as they tend to stick on contact.
Good Advice on the decals. I built one of these kits last year but didn't finish it - I agree with you on the fit. Hopefully I'll get to build another.

More excellent builds on the go, Chuck and I see from your additional Flickr pics that the 1/24th Spit resto is now done and very nice it looks too.

Yes, I have been using my new phone to gather photos recently, so I had to spend a while downloading and sorting stuff. Fairly well up to date at the moment.

I have now an untidy desk in a very full model room. Its on the back of the house with HiFi, storage and tool cupboards. It even has its own loo. Very handy.

I need to add some more shelves above the board. These are very shallow and I need deep, adjustable ones.

Image

From the door. The loo is at the end on the left and has shelves for aerosols and resins. It usually looks tidier, but there are still a few kitchen jobs to do when I can move about a bit better. See if you can see a hand hiding in the rack.

This is the other shed, where the heavy stuff is done.

Nice having some solitude to work in. How cold does it get in the winter? I see lots of green outside so my guess is not too bad. Does it affect your ability to work?

The workshop is always light and sunny, though it has no heating. The actual model model room has a heater, but I tend not to use it.

In the last few days it got down to around 10 degrees C, while it was -5 outside. The loo is even warmer. It's all quite well insulated.

Hopefully, modelling will be resumed in a week, or so.

This is when we want hi-res images so we can zoom and pan around - ie nosy parkers.

Looking at the lower photo you can see how much light I get from the south facing window. That was taken last year, so it looks summery. The bad news is that the guy next door has built a new shed alongside my garage. Half way through he got it extended. It now covers that window, though about 4 foot away from it. It is a huge shed. All timber built and about 20 feet long by 12 feet wide. I had hoped that it would have been more in line with my garage, but I was in hospital when it was getting built. He is having to get access to the build via my my drive, too, since his side has a garage on it. We get on well enough and the shed may help him get his drive and patio cleared. It looks like Steptoe's yard at the moment. At least he sold his huge campervan to pay for the shed. I can see down the road again. He had a heart attack recently. so this is why things stopped. I'm not mobile enough to get down to my shed yet to see the effect.

That is a really super area to work in - much better than my poor old tray!

I had an old drawing board / tray on my knees and an old wooden box that had been a picnic box, for years. It seemed to do the job. I much prefer the desk, though it's not in a nice warm living room anymore.
