Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
I love Micromesh me.
Oh yes I am still working on this as much as my real job allows me too.
I started to mask the clear parts with a mixture of different masking materials.
The wing dihedral is way off and needed some plastic card intervention to correct it.
Then it was over filled with some Mr white Putty and I will let it cure completely before sanding smooth.
Trust me it looks sooooo much better for having it done, no problem with the stabilizers.
Regards
Mark

Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
As well as filling the gaps with plastic card I used Mr white putty, My Dissolved putty and Mr surfacer 500.
So the port wing root was cured enough to sand with a coarse sanding stick and various grades of Micromesh and because I used a strip of Tamiya tape along the wing root no real damage occurred to the panel lines.
Another strip of Tamiya tape and a coat of Mr surfacer 500 was applied and should eradicate any dips and when cured will be Micromeshed Yeah....

Mark,
Looking good!
I am still at the "just about to fill" phase. However, I have masked off the fuse windows in anticipation.
regards,
Martin

Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Thanks guys.
Well after a bit more Micromeshing I ended up with the seams looking well not perfect but then not too bad...
So to see how much more sanding will be needed or for that matter how much more Mr surfacer was needed I went over the seams with some silver paint.
Just a little near the starboard wing leading edge and I think I will call those seams done and then I can concentrate on remasking the windows where needed, check the rest of the seams around the fuselage, engines and wings and then give it a coat of primer.
Regards
Mark

Looking great and nice job on the putty! I always struggle with gaps between wing and fuselage.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Looks good from those angles Mark
The reports I'd read mention the radio operator's window and how the wing should not obscure it (for want of a better description) It looks like you've achieved that

Re: Titan's Carolina Moon
Thanks guys.
Ok more progress to report.
I painted the tires with Panzer Aces 306 - Dark Rubber and the inner with Alclad.
Engine cowling's were first sprayed with alclad black undercoat and then with alclad polish aluminum.
Then I started to spray the fuselage but quickly realised that I may not have enough undercoat to do the job but pushed on regardless.....I was right I managed to spray everything except the starboard outer wing...oh well another can on it's way by Thursday still I alclad..ed what I could and will give a final coat after I have primed the outer wing.
