Worth getting a couple Flak, can't wait for the foreign operators decals from Xtra so I can build an Aussie one. It is well engineered, had to trim the tail booms a little ( very little ) to get a good fit.

Re: And it turned into a VAMPIRE BLITZ***underway***
Little bit of filler around the intakes and the upper wing-fuse joint. There are gaps when you join up the lower wings at the root, this could have been me, but I suspect that the upper wing has a smidge too much dihedral. Attching the lower wings and then taping the wingtips down effected a pretty good join at the root, once the tape's removed there is no discernable difference to the dihedral.

Catch up on a few pictures
Intake trunking in place, the assembly needed the excellent locating tabs shortening by a fraction of a mm to get a good fit with the intakes
Starting to look like a Vampire......
Now it DOES look like a Vampire
Now I'm up to my least favourite job - canopy masking, Oh, it's not a tail sitter

This will be a 2 * 12 Hour build. I know that's soft, but with kids school and after school commitments it's going to work for me. Recommence at about 11am local time.
Ooh - almost forgot colour schemes, I quite like them both, but the yellow trainer bands will be an easier masking job !

This is looking good, great start.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

Very cool. Looks like it is going pretty well.
Besting 60 years of mediocre building of average kits in the stand off scale

I've only just managed to catch up with this Stoaty, what with work and time zones etc etc. This is a great looking new tool from Airfix and you're doing sterling work with it. I can't see any sink marks worth mentioning, what are some people like?!?
Doing - Tamiya 1/35th Universal Carrier.

Going to have to take issue with your choice of Footy team (Go Tigers!).. but not with your choice of kit.. this should look great.

Re: And it turned into a VAMPIRE BLITZ***underway***
I think so OT, but , as with most of my Blitz's , it willbe a compromise, I'd like to alclad this , but won't have time for black undercoat and gloss coats, so I'll probably rattle can it with gloss aluminium (Tamiya ) and decal straight onto that.Old_Tonto wrote:Looks very good build.
