Here's something that bugs me, a little.

This is a Git Set, with paints n'brush included.. therefore aimed at beginners/newcomers.

Scenario:
Grandma is buying First Kits for her Grandsons Freddy and Mark. She sees a Freedom Fighter gift set and a Messerschmitt 109 gift set. She buys them for the boys based on their initials. Little Mark gets a new-tool Emil, builds it, loves it. Fast forward 15 years and he's blitzing a 1/32 Arado to the astonishment of his chums. Freddy, however, gets this kit. Oh dear. Fast forward 15 years and Freddy has not even glanced at a model kit in that time, is into MMA and Knowing About Tyres and uses kittens as squeegees to clean his tricked-out Vauxhall Nova.

And it's all your fault, Airfix.

I hope you can sleep nights.

Hmmm. I'm not sure how your thought processes are working here, Mike. I'm sure that having the F-5 would necessarity lead to using kittens as squeegees.
I do agree, however, that Airfix should re-think their boxings. However, the shiny new pics of the Corsair, for example, might seduce people into buying it - even though Airfix know what's in the box is pants. Not real pants, of course, just a pants kit.
BUT Airfix are in the game to make money and if that involves packaging up kits made from molds older than me, then they will do. And I don't mind. Especially if they are investing the money in new molds, which they certainly appear to be doing.

So stop moaning and get sanding!

Filler is dry. If anyone needs me, I'll be sanding.

Goodness Michael, that kit is a trifle pants is it not :ha: :ha: :ha: 'tis aboot time Airfix consigned that to the cosmic dustbin I think and gave us a shiny noo one as the F-5A is a handsome little jet.

I hope you haven't sanded your dirrrrty blitzbau fingers to the bone yet......

I wish...

Booze n'fags achieved

On with this "Modelling" lark...

Still a Pig, but now a shiny one...

You would not believe how much filling and sanding it took to get this nose halfway decent. Yeesh.

Everyone! Meet Gordie; Gordie, Everyone..
Image

Look! He's waving back! Such a nice Canadian boy. Gordie is from the little town of Elknuts, Saskatchewan. He likes to play Hockey, watch Hockey, read about Hockey and, to unwind, play NHL 94 on his Sega Genesis. Gordie WLTM a Scandinavian lady with an interest in building Spitfires (Gordie himself thinks that you can never have too many).

There may be things wrong with my brain.

This song by Raul Seixas is nothing short of amazing. However, having heard it on the City Of God soundtrack, I made the mistake of tracking down one of his albums. Not so good. Think the music playing in the dodgy Tapas joint in hell and you're close.

This is great, though.

Glad you could join us Michael. Well, you've made a decent job so far out of that old stick fetcher. Seeing the gaps before, I can appreciate the amount of filling and sanding all too well. At least Good Old Boy Gordie will have something approaching a nice streamlined aeryplane to sit in instead of a draughty gap fest where he'd be able to see the ground twixt his feet. I'm off for another tinny now and another tab. Cheers!

Welcome back, Mike and a big HELLO to Gordie.
I have to say I made it to 40 seconds into that track before I clicked pause. And that was 39 seconds too long!
Speaking of Saskatchewan, I like the Saskatchewan style sweet and sour chicken from our local Chinese.
Did I mention the F-5E is a much better kit?

I enjoyed Raul and there is some great imagery on show as the track plays as a bonus.

Maybe my brain is knackered as well.

Oh man. I don't believe it. I go out with The Tall Vegetarian Wife for a few scant hours and he's at it AGAIN! Not only can I not believe you're lining up again Mike, I also can't believe Airfix are still allowing unsuspecting punters to score this kit for the same price they could have new tool P-51D for. Or a new tool SPITFIRE, come to that. Good to see you're keeping up on the booze and cigarettes (North American housemates prevent me from using the UK slang).
Would ya like to learn to fly? Would ya? Would you like to see me try?
