Stuart's Backseat Blunders.

Post by Stuart »

Hi all,

Well this is me, one small tray to call my own, well actually its a humbrol workstation that my Wife got me for Valentines day. Yes I know it's a gimmick, but its far better than the peice of MDF it replaces :-D
I am a typcial modelling hobo, wherever I lay by bench is my home!!! Which most days is in my car during lunch breaks! - More pics to follow when i've got something intresting to show...
Current project is Airfix's 1:72 Folland Gnat T.1.

My mat is a mobile as yours, Stuart. Conservatory in summer, dining room when it's cold and the office at work when I'm working the weekend or nights. It's good not to be tied down to a desk.
I'm a mostly full-time modeller put a part-time poster....

That looks nice and neat and tidy. Wonder how long that will last!

That Gnat looks good Stuart. Hope to see some more pictures soon.

Looks spiffy there Stuart.

I really have to get a Humbrol cutting matt one of these days. There is so much data printed on them. So much more to cover with my sloppy paint work.

Modeling in the car now that's interesting. I'm not sure I could do that but I like the idea. Very cool

Thanks guys - It is pretty neat this workstation, I only used it for a few days but I'm happy with it so far, although your right, I'm not sure how long it will stay that tidy!!

Most of my modelling is done in the back of my car at lunch, but I can work anywhere, including from a shoebox lid on the kitchen work surface whilst tidying up - when you've got 2 little-uns, and your desperate for some modelling time - you can work anywhere!! (some modelling is ALWAYS better than none...)

I would love my own little mancave, but it'll have to wait, but I'm happy to have my man tray.

It looks a hell of a lot neater than the chaos of my workbench Stuart. That workstation is actually a handy looking piece of kit for mobile modelling. If I do any modelling in front of the telly it has be on a tea tray and stuff can slide around on it if I'm not careful. Do I see the new tool Gnat on there? We can look forward to some glamour shots of it when it's done then  Welcome on board.

You are lucky, I need heaps of room to spread things out and lose them etc. Your builds look good so its obviously working for you.
