The bench, January 1 2019

Image

Front and centre is the Hasegawa Cougar still waiting to be mounted  on a suitable stand. There are 2 finished kits of the F3 Lightning off to the right also waiting for a stand. At the back behind the wing of the Cougar you can just make out the flat bed trailer, the white square of tissue paper front left will be used to cover a load fashioned from sprue offcuts. On the Lightning box a Fokker Eindekker has had it's first decals attached, and the four chaps on the ice cream stick are railwaymen from 2 of Dad's locos. They came unpainted with the models, and I believe he has some more that need painting :)

Happy New Year

A nice busy looking bench, Nigel and that is a great scheme for the Cougar.

That's a sharp looking Cougar! ...one of my favorite planes, specially with the high-vis scheme!

...and a Happy New Year to you too!

Looking forward to seeing more on the Eindekker. Are you going to rig it? It is one of the easier WW1 types to rig as it is a monoplane.

A fine Cougar Nigel. Looks great with the masking off the canopy. How are you going to mount it, with an acrylic rod or the wood dowel?

The Fokker Eindekker is coming along nicely as well. It is a really good kit.

This is it. The moment we should have trained for.

Thanks PGAs, the Cougar will get an acrylic rod in the jet pipe  then be fixed to a heavy round wooden base. When I can source one :???:
Lone Modeller, I fully intend to rig the Fokker. I built the Revell version some time ago and rigged that one, so to leave this bare would just be wrong
When I attached the wings I pressed too hard and broke off the mounting pegs that go through the fuselage. I thought I'd got the wings back in the right position and left it to set overnight, but, missed it by that much

So it's finished a little out of true. I've come this far so I'll finish it off, but I might have to pick up another if I see one.

Oops! That's a shame, but from the head on shot it doesn't show too much
Best wishes

Yes, it's not too bad Iggie. The wings are at least level with each other  After perusing some nice small scale armour construction in other pages, I've decided to start this

And a couple of hours later I have these sub assemblies

At least I won't have any nasty tracks to contend with :ha:

Those small figures attached to the sprue look to be very nice.
I'm not so familiar with the vehicle, but it looks like it could get along well in modern times, and not only WWII. Very cool looking armored car.

Ooh, the Puma! I had one of those; a pity I ever let it go. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. I like the Cougar a lot, too by the way.

Never mind about the Fokker - as Iggie has written it hardly shows - but of course you will see it every time! It would certainly be worth having another try.

The Puma looks really good. Are you going to add some extras to give it a slightly different look from one OOB?

The puma should be a good build; it is good to see a few more builds of matchbox kits among the workbench pages. As for the fokker - press on with it, it looks Ok in the photos to me too.

Finished the trailer. Because the drawbar got unintentionally glued  I fashioned a prop from ice cream sticks glued together and given a brown wash. A couple of the offcuts were fixed to the load bed, and she's done

Started the rigging for the Fokker. This is EZ Line fixed with super glue

The rigging looks spot on Nigel and the flat bed wear is awesome as I've previously commented 8-)
