I'm Off on My Holidays, 2013 Edition

Post by PaulBradley »

Here's a thread so that you can all let us know when you are off on your hols, and haven't just disappeared from the face of the Earth.... :ha:

Me first. :ha: Off to Switzerland and Croatia for three weeks, starting tomorrow, June 3rd. I'll have limited Internet access via an iPad mini, so I'll try to check in, but my fat fingers aren't that good with the 'keyboard'... During the trip, I am hoping to visit the Swiss Air Force Museum, so if anyone wants photos of something there, pipe up now.

Sounds like a nice trip Paul. Hope you have a good time. I've been to Switzerland, not Craotia. I enjoyed Switzerland, a nice country.

Have a great trip, Paul! Sounds very nice. 8-)
I've not been to Dubrovnik or Split but hear good things about them (I find Dubrovnik tempting). Been to Verudela and Pula in Croatia, further north, bit closer to the Italian border. Enjoy!

When I go on hols I stay off internet and barely use my mobile. I like it like that. Enjoy your hols, sounds lovely.

Today I've been checking flights and hotels for my next holiday, going away for my birthday in August. Can't wait.
Confused as always, and somewhere in hiding on the Scandinavian peninsula...

The wife and I just return from a seven day cruise to Alaska. Beautiful
scenery and lots of wildlife to see. Very relaxing trip I would recommend
to others. Lyell...

I've been to Switzerland quite a few times (Mrs W's uncle lives there) and Croatia once (which we enjoyed greatly, stayed in Cavtat - had a day in Dubrovnik which is just down the road from there and it is beautiful), this should be a good trip for you, you lucky man

Is that the Alaskan Passage cruise? Ketchikan, Juneau etc.? I did that cruise as part of my honeymoon a few years back. It was a great trip.

Have a good time in Dubrovnik. Ston is a nice place if you like oysters. Dubrovnik airport has a SG-38 Zogling glider hanging from the departures roof.

Just arrived back at 1AM this morning, after being up for 30 straight hours.....

Superb trip, both countries have much to recommend them and are great holiday destinations. A fuller report will follow in due time - probably over the weekend once I've caught up with sleep and work.....
