Work, work and more work on this Andrew. Good to see and makes my build look inadequite.

No, it just shows you made a more sensible choice of kits!Ian wrote:Work, work and more work on this Andrew. Good to see and makes my build look inadequite.

Re: Georges Guynemer's Gosling
Another round of sanding and filling.
Hopefully I'm improving things a bit!
A more serious problem is that the passenger windows on one side are starting to cave into the cabin. Now this is a real pain in the gluteous maximus, so I will have to tread carefully to avoid dislodging it completely. A couple of bits of the rigging and undercarriage struts have also come adrift, but that is easy to fix.
I'm hoping to get another coat of primer on this during the afternoon. My Father's Day gift (apart from a 1/72 Revell P-47D) is an afternoon of peaceful modelling. Unfortunately no. 2 son woke up at 12.30 am this morning and has been awake ever since, so I am not feeling at my best at the moment; it's like jet lag, but without the jet part...
cheers
Andrew

I think I can see where you have plugged the gaps between the filler with bits of a Grumman Gosling kit

It's actually a skeleton of plastic shim with the odd (and I mean odd ) Airfix part in between!JamesPerrin wrote:I think I can see where you have plugged the gaps between the filler with bits of a Grumman Gosling kit
After another coat of primer, everything is now tolerable except over the windscreen, which needs more polishing.
Cheers

Tolerable sums up most of my efforts with this hobby
This is coming together very well Andrew. I agree, those windows will be a proper PITA if they fall into the cabin. TBH, I might have been tempted to use clear fix or similar to make the windows on this rather than trust to those old Airfix efforts. If they do fall in it might be worth trying the clear fix method to replace them. Of course, the defunct windows might be visible when peering into the finished model......

Re: Georges Guynemer's Gosling
Finally, some paint on the old dog!
:
Vallejo Light Green. The chocolate colour I'll have to mix up from Dark Earth and a splash of Red.
cheers

Re: Georges Guynemer's Gosling
Thanks everyone. Real life prevented me from doing more than masking up for the chocolate brown colour, and trying out a couple of different shades on my MS.406 target. I hope to get something done later today.
Cheers

It's a rough kit but you are making a gem out of it. Nice work.

Re: Georges Guynemer's Gosling
If I'd been building this I'd have given up at the filling and sanding stage. Nice work.
