Re: Some Ideas...
Sounds good to me!
I'll proberbly do mine oob, with maybe a little extra scratch work in the cockpit. I'll also be using the new Xtradecal Hawker Typhoon sheet as I'm not that keen on the kit markings and it's always nice to do something different.
When would be Good time for you guys? Asides from a hol in the 3rd week of July and the MB GB in October my calenders pretty empty.
Regards
Stuart

Re: Some Ideas...
My build calendar (and real life one!) is pretty full. August would be okay, otherwise we're looking at November, I'm afraid!

Re: Some Ideas...
I have checked my stash and found an old Frog Typhoon (car door type).
I'm away for most of August but would like to join you if I can.
If you put me down as a possible start, I will keep checking in to see when you plan to start and take it from there. If you get to many starters for the shared build I will drop out to let the others play if thats OK.

My work bench is starting to look like Portsmouth Naval Dockyard.

Re: Some Ideas...
Hi splash with you that only makes four so we are still two away from clashing with the GBs but if we do get too many could we not ask john if we can move things over to an ad hoc Hawker Typhoon Single Type GB?

Re: Some Ideas...
I think the Typhoon Single Type GB would probably be quite popular, given the new Airfix release; my GB builds are pretty busy until November!

Re: Some Ideas...
The helicopter idea seems popular so I have proposed another Whirleybirds GB with a poll.

Re: Some Ideas...
Do we want to propose a Typhoon single type GB or a Typhoon SB?
I would be happy with either.

Re: Some Ideas...
I'd prefer a single type, as the new Airfix has not flown across the Atlantic yet!

Re: Some Ideas...
I can't wait for the new Typhoon to hit my LHS
Even though I've built two of the Academy Typhoons in recent years I could easily do another if its the new Airfix one. This time it'll be in Desert camo

Re: Some Ideas...
I'd still like to do an SB, but it dosent have to be a tiffee and if theres enough intreast to make this a single type GB then who am I to spoil the fun. The more the merrier I say!lancfan wrote:Do we want to propose a Typhoon single type GB or a Typhoon SB?

Re: Some Ideas...
As Andrew proposed the Typhoon it is really his choice whether he locks it off to new builders and we go ahead with the SB or proposes the GB to see how many others want to join in.Sir T wrote:I'd still like to do an SB, but it dosent have to be a tiffee and if theres enough intreast to make this a single type GB then who am I to spoil the fun. Re: Some Ideas...
I have now managed to get a new tool Airfix Tiffie - they were freshly arrived at the LHS
However, I am really bogged down with builds, so I'd rather postpone this for a while. Modelling exhaustion is setting in, and I need a little breathing space. Given we have 4 people here interested, I'd suggest throwing it open as a GB, but personally I'd rather wait until 2014 for that or the SB. I'm fine with you three going ahead though - I can do a dual build with the Airfix and Frog models later (The Sublime to the Ridiculous, is my proposed title )
cheers
Andrew

Re: Some Ideas...
I would imagine a GB in 2014 would get a good response, I'm planning to build a few tiffies anyway so even I build the one I have now I'd still be up for a GB. I might even try the CMR Mk 1a kit.
If someone else wants to a SB in the meantime I'll join in, but otherwise as a Sheep I am happy to follow the crowd
Hope you like yor new kit Andrew!
Regards

Resurrecting this thread.
Anyone got any plans for other SBs?
A biplane one perhaps? you choose the type, cos I have a stash half full of them, mention one and I may have it.
