Re: Sissels Israeli Ouragan ** Tuesday 13th **
I'm off!
Obligatory sprue shot with clock.
I hope to complete this today as I have a very important date with the hairdresser tomorrow and I 'might' do another blitz in the afternoon!
Snacks at hand, these biscuits are just yummy! And it will take me about 20 seconds to eat that deliciouuuus chocolate.
I feel really bad for disappointing VV with my lack of alcohol pics. Might as well go strait to the heavy stuff, eh?
To be accompanied with these! One of these is Flaks favorite beer, and it's not the one in the middle or the one to the left.
PS: The San Miguel is only 3,5% cause I bought it in Sweden!
Lets start off with a powerful song from one of my favorite bands, Rhapsody!

Good luck on the blitz. I am just about to get on the road heading to the US Nationals. About 7 hours of driving plus stops so will see if you have finished before I get there.

She certainly is. She is full asleep now with paws out.Ian wrote:Ah, what a little cutie. I love cats but Mrs. Ian is allergic. I had to give my two away when we moved in together.
Looks like she's made herself right at home on that cushion.
Well done you for rescuing her!
And Philip, I can assure you this will not be finished in 7 hours, I need all 24 as there is drinking, food eating, sleeping and cuddling the kitten!
Plus as usually I am running up and down between three stories to put updates here.
Sorry for two quick posts here, but had to do some painting before uploading first post with the official start!
Some boring sprue painting, black and aluminium.
Content in one of my glasses aren't brownish, but blank. It's this stuff under here.
Chinese eh.. something (rice liquor?). 42%, really tasteful, with a touch of fruity flavour. I just grabbed it in a supermarket. I had already bought the max amount of alcohol to bring into Norway, so due to customs rules here, this goes under smuggling. Don't tell!!
Next to PE there is this thing. Not a decal. I just cut it out and glued it on. Oh reminder to self, must paint PE IP BEFORE putting it on.

It is nice isn't it.
I'm a bit annoyed with the instructions on this kit. It says part nr. but there are no number on the sprues. First page of instructions shows an overview with sprue numbers, fair enough.
I find PE really fiddly, but got some seat belts on. Have gone over with silver on the buckles.
Rougly going over the floor, 'pedals' is PE.
The design of what's gonna be in the nose is also fiddly. There's hardly room for weight! So I am thinking of dropping one large piece I glued in, however that will leave a hole underneath and nose gear wont sit on anything so that's not possible. Need to find a smart way. But I'm running out of ideas.
A slurp of cognac will help, I'm sure!

I seem to be using forever before I can close up the fuselage. 2,5 hours into the build and feel I haven't done anything. Now I wish it was a one color plane. But there's three colors, if not more.
Here I am trying to put the cockpit together. IP and side wall left. Boy, this is fiddly. Superglue all over me fingers as usual.
Only places to put led. You think it's enough?!
Went out to buy kitten food. After she ate, some cuddling. Hmmm... wait a minute. What direction is this going? Am I keeping her?!

Aaaaah! Deep Purple. What they did with Kentucky Woman was wonderful. Good progress on this kit.

I've not done anything since last update.
I went back to the woods looking for the other cat. I don't have heart to leave it there knowing it's up there. I found one more. So three alltoghether. Took them home, letting them get used to me, feed them, and made them all a nice bed with warm blanket.
Tomorrow I will call a place that takes care of homeless, abandoned and dumped cats.
With the rate this is going I'm gonna have to stop the clock when I go to bed. Then continue this blitz tomorrow afternoon. But I do hope to do this as a proper one with 24 hours.
Will see
Deep Purple has a few good ones, yeah.
Now I'm starving and need to eat!

You know you want to! Cats are the best. Great stress relief.
The best bit is if they curl up next to you under your covers at night in bed.
The worst bit is when they do that and it's been raining outside!
Kudos for going back and rescuing the other two!
Nice interior. It looks great. I hope you can see it once it's all closed up.

Cheers, Ian.
I can't stand animal abuse. They were just left there. Called Dyrebeskyttelsen (Animal Protective Care), they will try to find a foster home asap. I'm going on holiday Friday!!
Sadly I can't take care of them.
Okay, I'm gonna get back upstairs to continue. This certainly is a strange blitz!

Mmmm tuna fish salad. This is soo yummy! And quick to make.
Have finally gotten the fuselage together with brunt force. One side is a little bit longer so they don't match properly, I will fix this with sanding. Just need to let the glue cure for a while. I don't want any accidents.

Small update.
I've got wings and fuselage together. I cut and sanded the top and under wings to match, there were rather large misfits.
Then I glued together tip of wings. Here is what the battle tank hurricane looks like now.
Done painting wheel gear, well almost.
Canopy frames freehand. As you can see I clearly needed more cognac for this. A toothpick will fix it.
I've not gone over with filler yet. And while I take a little break, I'll enjoy a bit of Swedish metal. Alone!

I have been battling with the fit of the nose wheel bay. I'd say the fit allover this kit isn't very good, and it's been a struggle. But hey, that's fun!
Due to the led sticking a bit out I had to sand/cut off part of this nose wheel bay, but it's on the inner side so not visible. Just hope there's enough weight.
And an overview with clock.
I am getting very sleepy. I hope to get one camo color on before bedtime. Just need to let the putty dry. Wheel gear partly assembled. Some small bits to be put on and I think I can start painting.

Looking superb. I think you have enough lead. If it were me I'd have put in half that amount, but maybe ended up with a tail-sitter,
Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
Its not just how good your painting is, its how good the touch-ups are too.

Great story about the cats, they were lucky you came along. I have 2 cats from the RSPCA, one of them is the biggest hurdle to my model building, always wanting to know what is going on and knocking things all over the place.
Shame the fit has been a bit of a struggle, not a help when blitzing, but I know that is nothing to you seasoned blitzers. I am looking forward to you finishing as the colour scheme looks good on this one.
