Pah! Dirty hands indeed. How can I do housework with dirty or painted hands? Mrs. Ian would kill me!

Doing a great job there and isn't it funny that it is a rather nice kit and a poor one at the same time.

I thought it was possible to WASH the hands when they get dirty... :ha:

How's the kit coming along? (trying to be sensible and stay on topic for once... is it working?)

well done, Sissel. You managed it quite well. Now go and have a sit down, it must have been quite a challenge for you. :ha:
The kit hasn't changed. I've been working since Thursday.
I'm just catching up on the forum (after finishing the ironing) and now I am going to put the kettle on and make a brew before heading out to the bench. I should have some all new pics later today.

Filling done and and sanded and another coat of silver applied. Just a couple of spots need a little more work.

And here we are. Using PVA as a filler has meant that because I used a damp cloth to wipe away the excess it was already slightly recessed. Then, as it dried, it also shrunk slightly leaving these filled panel lines looking very similar to the engraved detail. Happy with how it's looking at this stage.

What I am less happy about is having had to move into the dining room. Didn't get above 15C in the conservatory today. I am missing my desk.

Nice one Ian. PVA does shrink a fair bit, which has been to your advantage here, but can be a pain when using it to fair in cockpit glazing, which is what I use it as a filler for the most.

It's been cold and miserable here today as well.

Sorry for the lack of updates but I got the silver painted and though to myself 'I'll just pop a decal on' and that turned into the whole sheet. So I added the gear doors and then it was done!

A lovely kit but not without issues. If you can overcome them, you can end up with a great model. I know where I can improve if I build another so I may well buy a couple more to keep this one company.

Well done on a beautiful model, Ian! That looks really great. Excellent silver painting as well!

What type of silver paint did you use?
